Friday Focus – lunchtime talks

Leamington Spa Art Gallery & Museum’s free Friday Focus lunchtime talks cover a wide range of topics relating to the Royal Pump Rooms, the Art Gallery & Museum’s collections and the history of Royal Leamington Spa. The programme of talks runs every Friday at 1pm.

On Friday 6 March there will be a Friday Focus Extra to mark the opening of the Sensational Clay exhibition.

Artist Jon Williams will give an introductory talk about the touring show as well as discussing his creative practice. This talk will last approximately one hour.

The Young Reader by Miguel Mackinlay will be introduced by Nigel Briggs, on Friday 13 March. Nigel will discuss this painting, its maker and how he came across it in the Art Gallery & Museum store whilst researching a talk about Southlands School in Leamington.

Nick Peacey, the great-nephew of William Denis Browne, will discuss Browne’s life through a series of illustrations on Friday 20 March. Browne was a pianist, organist, critic, composer and resident of Royal Leamington Spa.
